Translation:
From the highest realm to the lowest, as far as the universe extends, let all divine sages and forebearers, all deceased ancestors, on both the father’s and mother’s side be worshiped. Let this humble offering of sesame and water benefit the whole world, from the heavens down to this earth; may it benefit the inhabitants of the seven continents belonging to unlimited families in the past.
Listen to the mantra:
This mantram is used during our Kali Puja just after we welcome Ganesha and Agni. As we chant, we stomp the ground in time to the meter of the chant with our feet and call to the beloved dead to join us. We invite them in by name with voices or do so silently in our hearts.
We utilize this mantram to invite in all who have gone before, both from the distant past and from the recent past, whether of our bloodline, clan wave, or as guides and teachers, to join us for the ritual.
Use this mantram in your ritual work and practice whenever you wish to create a safe and welcoming space for your lineage, spiritual family, or other ancestors to be with you.
