Welcoming the spirits of heart within the home of our temple, we gathered on June 21, 2015 to awaken Maa within us. Circle cast, water blessed, open to the Mystery, we commenced our 9th Annual Yoni Puja Festival. Jai Maa!
Be with us as we were then. Approaching Maa our breath deepens as our heart quickens. We receive flowers. The scent of flowers fills the air and our lungs are inspired to take in Her essence.
From each side of the altar we move to center, and we bow before Her.
Receiving kumkum, we make our offerings. The red of life takes us back to our connection to Her and to purpose. We receive the yoni tattva, nectar of Goddess Kamakhya.
Seated once more, we meditate on the infinite before us. We breathe, and She becomes one with us. Our bodies fill with Her presence and we dance.
The altar calls, our murti a wooden yoni now alive with Her energy, reminding us of the birthing for which we yearn. Our chant enlivens the space, syllables of surrender in an unmistakable rhythm pulsing to Her heartbeat ...
There is no where else to go and we bow down. We feel Her embrace and the warmth of love.
Those gathered take wine. Blessings are bestowed.
Aarati is performed with devotion and merriment, our spirits filled with gratitude.
Our puja complete, Maa radiates glorious. Jai Maa Kamakhya ki Jai!
