This mantra, affectionately known in SHARANYA as the Sanskrit drinking song, is a powerful blessing for sacred substances. In particular, we use it during our pujas to bless the wine we share in community.

This mantra invites us, through our chant, to transform the wine into the most pure embodiment of knowledge or wisdom as contained in amrita, the nectar of immortality which arose during the samudra manthan, or churning of the ocean of milk.

We utilize this mantra to deepen our internal alignment with the spiritual energies offered at each stage on the spiritual path. By imbibing, we take in the power symbolically offered through the material transformation of grape into wine, helping us draw increasingly into our essence and more fully connecting us with the deepest truth of our beingness in relationship to God/Goddess.
