The Path

The Sha’can tradition offers many opportunities for the neophyte as well as the initiate on the path to practice, worship, learn, deepen, and cultivate spiritual leadership. At SHARANYA, those seeking an understanding of and way into Sha’can begin with sitting in circle, joining us regularly for puja, service and teaching circles. Those who receive initiation are welcomed into the Kaula, or family of initiates.

The Kaula

The Kaula, our spiritual family, is bonded by faith, commitment and devotion to Goddess Kali. Each year we welcome Sha’can initiates new and old to ceremonies that solidify their practice and another year’s work on the path.

Daughters of Kali

Now welcoming new members! Let this year-long course, which can lead to initiation, be your own mythic journey into and out of the underworld. Let the Goddess of the Crossroads take your hand and guide you into an unfolding awareness of your Self as seen through Her eyes. These classes are powerful and transformative, and…

My experience [of Daughters of Kali] was profound and fulfilling. I gained not only ancient and mystical wisdom, but also a family that became connected to me on the most deep, soulful and sacred level.

Sha'can Initiate
    Teaching Circle

You can also join us for our next Teaching Circle as we continue the tradition of of engaging with teachings and practice after puja. Learn more about Tantra, our path, and the road to personal fulfillment through spiritual discipline in these informal gatherings. We offer you direct access to practices for deepened sadhana and worship within the embrace of community.

Farther Along The Path: Initiation & Beyond

Initiation is a decision come to only after deep personal reflection, commitment, and dedicated work on the path. After initiation, many choose to further deepen study and practice in our ongoing circle of initiates, the Yogini Chakra. Many in our community stay in this circle, becoming mentors and elders in community. Others may choose to do the work necessary to take on a leadership role through Matrika Chakra.

From this place, it is also possible to continue the journey to ordination, working toward recognition as full clergy: the Rashani of Sha’can. This path is available to any committed seeker.
